DescriptionWilliam Roberts was a shipwright in Hakin in the early part of the nineteenth century. He and his wife Margaret had a son, Thomas, who was baptised on 17th September 1823. Thomas eventually became a shipowner and gentleman. He and his wife Jane had two sons baptised in Milford Haven:-William Robert Roberts, 2lst August 1856 and Thomas Davies Roberts, 18th November 1858. Thomas moved to Surrey although he did retain property interests in the Milford area. He died in 1917. William died of pneumonia on 23rd July 1922 after a distinguished career during which he became a Colonel in the 1st Welsh Regiment, member of the U.D.C. and chairman of the bench of magistrates.
