TitleDavids. He says that within his memory all of Nash and Upton belonged to a Dr. Bowen who died leaving four daughters. As a result Nash was separated from Upton. Nash is inhabited by poor farmers who find it hard to support the church. All of Upton parish is settled on his wife's son by her marriage to the Rev. Thomas Woods so he has only a life interest in it and can only make provision to keep Upton Chapel in good repair during his life. He points out the similarity between Upton and Nash on the one hand and Redberth and Carew on the other.
