DescriptionWilliam David Phillips was born in Prendergast in 1846 and died in Market Street, Haverfordwest on 08/06/1926. A copy of his family tree can be found under the reference number HDX/1009/140. He had a long and varied career, including being clerk with Sir William Davies, solicitor, of Haverfordwest, Borough accountant, landlord of the Salutation Hotel, acutioneer, valuer, estate agent, insurance and general commission agent. He is remembered principally for his reminiscences which were serialised in the "Pembroke County Guardian" under the title "Old Haverfordwest" and were later published in a single volume of the same title. His obituary appears in the "Pembroke County Guardian" of 11/06/1926
