TitleRecords of Thomas Lewis Smith of The Forge, Wiston.
DescriptionMr Lawrence did all kinds of work; he shod horses, repaired machinery and household implements as well as plating clogs and boots. The first volume is in the form of a ledger but the rest of the books are in daybook form and record not only the work completed each day but extra information about Mr Lawrence's other activities. For example he kept pigs and cows and also made hay on his own account. He also notes things like his health, funerals of neighbours, going to shows and fairs, and on 19/09/1941 the bombing of Colby Moor by the Luftwaffe
