DescriptionMartha Child was the daughter of a farming family in Roch. The 1841 census shows her living at home with her widowed mother. In 1846 the Roch baptism register records the baptism of Mary Ann daughter of Martha Child, servant. By 1851 she is a house servant at Tregwynt, Granston. Thomas Llewellin "landed proprietor" and "visitor" is head of house. Her daughter Mary Ann is with her grandmother in Roch in 1851, but dies shortly afterwards. In 1855 Martha gives birth to Thomas Henry Llewellin at Pontfaen. In 1861 Martha and Thomas aged 6 are visitors at Thomas Llewellin's house Treginnis, St Davids, and later that year Martha gives birth to Arthur Edward Llewellin (who is baptised 2 years later at St Mary's, Haverfordwest). In 1865 Thomas Llewellin dies and Martha and her 2 boys move to a house in Hill Street, Haverfordwest. The 1881 census shows them all there with Thomas now a druggist's assistant and Arthur an apprentice watchmaker. Shortly after the census was taken Martha and Thomas both died of pnemonia. The newspaper reports Thomas Llewellellin dying after rescuing "a poor woman in distress"
