DescriptionAlfred Maine Treglown [great-grandfather of the depositor] was a mining engineer and blasting expert. He was born at Cambourne, Cornwall, the son of William and Mary Ann, and moved to New York State, USA, as a teenager with his widowed mother and his sister Louisa. He became a miner in the iron mines. He later returned to England and was, ultimately, buried back in Cambourne. His son, born in Gouvenour, USA, became President of Ingersoll Rand, later moving to Canada and then the Bahamas where he died in 1958. See printouts of UK & US censuses stored with HDX/1701.
