| Description | David John Roy Watkins, the son of Ivor and Martha (née Reynolds) Watkins, was born on 16th August 1932. He was educated at St Davids Grammar School (1945-1950) and at Carmarthen Training College (1951-1953). He married Dilys Allen at Penuel Baptist Chapel, Roch, on 27th July 1957. His first teaching post was a temporary appointment at Haverfordwest Grammar School in the autumn of 1953, he was then transferred to St Davids CP School for a term and moved to Letterston V.C. School in April 1954, where he was employed until 1962. Mr Watkins was then appointed as a science master at Ysgol Dewi Sant and retired in 1992, by which time he was serving as the school's assistant head. His wife Dilys died in 2001 and Mr Watkins himself died in August 2014 and was buried at Penuel Chapel. |
