163 - Diaries of Captain W J Dillwyn Miles written whilst based in Jerusalem, Palestine, & travelling all over the Middle East & North Africa as well as visits home on leave. Captain Miles was an Area Hirings Officer in the Royal Army Service Corps. The diaries include a record of his daily activities and comments on events related to the war. For example, on 25 May 1941, there was a reference to the sinking of HMS Hood the previous day. It was against military regulations to keep a diary during the Second World War so these diaries were written in Welsh.
