The business carried on by the firm was very varied. They acted as agents for many of the estates in the locality, relieving the landowners of the work involved in running their estates. In addition to this they ran agencies for several insurance firms and for the sale of cattle cake.
Other duties included the clerkship to the Trustees of Perrot's and Vawer's Charities and clerkship to Prendergast Burial Board. They also sold fishing licenses for the Cleddau Fishery Board

MARTIN   FAMILY   PAPERS
Thomas    Henry    Martin    and    Martha    (nee   Harries)    his    wife,    had    5 children   whose   names   occur   in   these   papers:    Henry   Harries   born 1886,   William  Howard   born  1887,   Stanley  Ralph  born 1890,(Florence) Gwendoline   born   1900   and (James)     Luther   born   1902.       Thomas   and Martha   separated   in   1907.       William   was   killed   in   the   First. World War.        Gwendoline    kept    these   papers    together    and    later   married Alfred   Williams,    who   died   in   1959.      On   Gwendoline's   death   these papers  passed to her executors
