Literary papers of Mr D. B. Phillips of Fishguard ('Briallydd') D. B. Phillips was born in Eglwyswrw. He moved to Treorchy with his parents when he was young but returned to Pembrokeshire as an adult. He was a fully qualified sanitary inspector and also a builder and contractor, being employed for many years as sanitary inspector to Haverfordwest Rural District Council. He was a deacon of the Bethel Baptist Chapel, Fishguard, a Freemason, and Chairman of the Fishguard Cymmrodorion Society. He wrote elegiac, bardic verse for which he was well recognised and won several chairs at local eisteddfodau
