TitleDraft conveyance of the one acre and one rood in the parish of Haroldston St Issells from Henry Mathias to the South Wales Railway Company
DescriptionThe deed recites the history of Town Park or Tumpy Park from 1800. In that year, when it was occupied by Martha Argust, widow; it was coveyed by various people, of whom Richard Philipps, Baron Milford was one, to William Blethyn of Haverfordwest. Even at that time it is referred to as "formerly Town Park". In 1809 William Blethyn mortgaged the land to Daniel Woolcock for £350. In 1817 William Blethyn conveyed the mortgaged property to his son John. In 1819 Daniel Woolcock wanted the mortgage money repaid and John Belthyn was unable to oblige so Daniel Woolcock got Elizabeth Lewis and her son Thomas to take on the mortgage. In 1839 Thomas Lewis advanced another £250 as mortgage to John Blethyn. In 1851 Henry Mathias bought the land off John Blethyn for £400. In 1853 Henry Mathias paid £600 to Thomas Lewis to buy out the mortgage. In the following year Henry Mathias sold part of it to the South Wales Railway Company
