N.B. Bonville's Court Coal Co. Ltd., letter dated 14 Jan 1928 states " - - - accounts prior to 1922 have been destroyed on the instructions of Mr. Vickerman, some years ago during the colliery strike when there was nothing much to do in the office, and the clerk thereupon destroyed a lot of old books and papers which were filling up the office - - -"
