Description | William Thomas (c.1862 - c.1950) was the son of Tom Thomas, gardener of Camrose. He had a greengrocery and fruiterers business at 99 Charles Street, Milford Haven, and was a potato merchant at Milford Docks. By 1905 he had diversified into hiring horses and vehicles, and about 1916 took over Venables' Yard adjacent to the Lord Nelson Hotel, and began the Lord Nelson Garage (W. Thomas and Sons). His daughters Olive and Ivy continued the grocery business. After William's death, his son Jack took over the garage until 1966, when Brian Thomas took over on his father's demise. The garage closed in the mid 1970s |
