This group of papers has a considerable overlap with the class D/RTM/MHE but while that class relates only to the Milford Haven property of Sir Hugh, this group includes items concerning his property in Aberdare, Fishguard and Landshipping also the land agency business based in Haverfordwest.

Sir Hugh laid the foundation of his prosperity with the purchase of the Gadlys Estate in Aberdare, Glamorgan in 1914. In 1920 he acquired the Milford Haven Estate but in December 1924 he died following an operation for appendicitis leaving all his estates to his widow, Dame Charlotte Evelina Thomas
