TitleLetter from Muriel Roch of 33 Draycott Place, [London], concerning her investments and comments on the General Strike "Well I hope it is a fight to a finish this time - it is no use going on as we have done ever since the war. The Government must rule. Also a man must be free to work if he wants and the man free to strike - at present the unions terrorise the workman & he is their helpless tool & can't call his soul his own. ------ no shortages of anything & trains & buses & charabancs etc increasing every day - but many think it will be worse before it is better - so far the strike is a failure ---- . Businesses except in food necessities is at a standstill ---- Harrods etc are deserts of emptiness as far as customers are concerned".
