| Description | In 1877 Mary Ellis of Herbrandston Hall, daughter of Philip Parsell Ellis of the same place, married Theodore King, then a barrister at law at the Inner Temple. He is sometimes called Major King. He was the son of the Reverend Thomas King of Malvern, Worcester. The King family's land appears to have been in Herefordshire. It was called the Burghope Estate. Thomas' wife was called Amelia Frances King. The estate was in the several parishes of Stanton (Staunton-on-Wye), Pembridge, Byton and Shodden (Shobdon) |
